. . . . . The Antioch Strolling
Strings program is the brainchild of Katy's mother, Mrs Betty Lawrence, a career music teacher and violinist as well. The
purpose of this performing group is to encourage and stimulate the development of the young string players of East Contra
Costa County. Betty and Katy teach string techniques, challenging literature and the art of performing. They provide many
interesting opportunities for the students to travel, and experience a variety of venues in which to perform. .
